Go Weinberger or go home!

How do you know that the information you are getting from somebody’s written words are accurate and credible? How do you decipher the real from the artificial?

Weinberger said that he is online almost all day and uses Wikipedia, but doesn’t necessarily trust the site. He makes a great point by talking about camera reviews online. How do we know if the review wasn’t just posted by the camera company to make the product out to be better than it is?

But blogs are a different story as the blogger is essentially taking the role as a journalist or at least the risks with such consequences as libel. Weinberger deems blogs to be distributive and I would have to agree. In 2003 a writer on post-gazette.com wrote that “bloggers have been compared to 19th-century pamphleteers.” Bloggers have a role even if it is just random notes jotted down about the day.

The sharing that bloggers create circulate the Web just like newspapers do and as online sharing develops, the more blogs will become important. As this blog states, these blogs become more significant, these published pieces will have more of an impact on society and the economy.

Some online users are dedicated readers and fans of certain blogs that are posted regularly and the popularity of these reads are subsequently shared with the entire online world.
